DESCRIPTION:The Humble Lunch is one day a year where the OES dining hall serves one simple option for lunch and then donates the money they saved by serving a “humble” meal to Neighborhood house\, a non-profit in Multnomah Village serving those experiencing hunger. The Humble Lunch is not meant to simulate what it’s like to be hungry or to eat in a soup kitchen. Rather the Humble Lunch is meant to be an opportunity for us to come together as a community — all eating the same meal — to truly think about how we may subconsciously take food for granted and show our support towards ending hunger. So we ask that you please come to Humble Lunch with an open mind and embrace this opportunity to practice gratitude.
